The government has in principle decided to reopen the Nato supply routes and the truth of this assertion lies in the extension of an invitation to President Asif Ali Zardari to attend the Chicago summit scheduled on May 20 and 21, which would be attended by around 60 heads of government. Around a week ago, on May 10, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Nato Secretary General had suggested, without explicitly mentioning Pakistan, that the country could miss out on important talks on the future of Afghanistan in Chicago if it fails to reopen supply routes in time.
